Unit 8 – The Herbivores Unit 9 – The Extinction Unit 10 – Could we bring dinosaurs back? The first dinosaurs lived on a large landmass called Pangaea and evolved from an earlier form of reptile named Chordates around 230 million years ago. All of the different continents on Earth were once connected so a dinosaur could walk from America all the way to Australia if it chose. Dinosaurs were all cold blood and like their reptile cousins, they have all the heat they need from the sun to warm their blood. The cold-blooded dinosaurs would lay their eggs and waited for their offspring to hatch and some of them may at this stage have been warm-blooded. Many dinosaurs were bigger than any of the animals we see today on earth. Some of the largest dinosaurs had over 1,000 trillion cells, like the Ultrasaurus. To put it in perspective we as humans have only 70 trillion cells. These huge animals could have weighed up to 50 tons, which is the same as a fully loaded truck. Then, there were other smaller dinosaurs, even smaller than a chicken and some could even fly and had feathers. Designed for both classroom & home / independent learning. Many Ancient Greek ideas have continued, practically unchanged, into the modern era. Areas such as literature and architecture would be unrecognizable without the Ancient Greeks. Their legacy has undoubtedly helped to shape the course of history. Important concepts that they left behind are their systems of government, culture and arts, and science and technology. The Ancient Greeks may have lived over 2000 years ago, but they are still with us today. During the pinnacle of the Greek civilization, Greek culture and ideas spread throughout the Mediterranean. It was first copied by the Ancient Romans and after the middle Ages, the European Renaissance rediscovered many features of Greek culture and used them in art and architecture.
